30 FACTS ON HUMAN BODY

The Human body is the entire structure of our body, composing so many different types of cells that together create tissues and subsequently organ systems. So, here are some different functions and facts of our body which you may have never heard of.

Here

1.Our heart beats around 100,00 times every day or about 30 million times in a year.

2. Human fingers are so sensitive, that if your fingers were the size of Earth, you could feel the difference between a house and a car.

3. Our lungs inhale over two million litres of air every day, without even thinking. Their surface area is large enough to cover one side of a tennis court.

4. The human eye is so sensitive that if the Earth were flat, you could spot a candle flickering at night from up to 30 miles away.

5. We are about 70 percent water.

6. The human brain can read up to 1,000 words per minute.

7. It is believed that the main purpose of eyebrows is to keep sweat out of the eyes.

8.
Inside your belly button are thousands of bacteria that form an ecosystem the size of an entire rainforest.

9. The surface area of a human lung is equal to that of a tennis court.

10. When in love, the human brain releases the same cocktail of neurotransmitters and hormones that are released by amphetamines. This leads to increased heart rate, loss of appetite and sleep, and intense feelings of excitement.

11. Give a tennis ball a good, hard squeeze. You're using about the same amount of force your heart uses to pump blood out to the body.

12. An adult is made up of 7,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (7 octillion) atoms. For perspective, there's a 'measly' 300,000,000,000 (300 billion) stars in our galaxy.

13. There are more bacteria in your mouth than the human population of the United States and Canada combined.

14. A full head of human hair is strong enough to support 12 tonnes.

15. An average human drinks about 16,000 gallons of water in a lifetime.

16. We have the same amount of hairs on our body as a chimpanzee. Most are useless and so fine that they are invisible.

17. Our eyes never grow, and our nose and ears never stop growing.

18. Human bone is as strong as granite. A block of bone the size of a matchbox could support nine tonnes of weight.

19. The thumbnail grows the slowest; the middle nail grows the fastest

20. The focusing muscles in your eyes move around 100,000 times a day. To give your leg muscles the same workout, you'd need to walk 50 miles.

21. Women blink nearly twice as much as men.

22. A single human sperm contains the 37.5mb of male DNA required to create a human child. That means an average ejaculation sees the transfer of 1,500 terabytes of information.

23. In your very own lifetime, you'll produce enough spit to fill two swimming pools.

24. Humans shed 40 pounds of skin in their lifetime, completely replacing their outer skin every month

25. Around 90% of the cells that make humans aren't “human" in origin. We're mostly fungi and bacteria.

26. A human being can look forward to having sex an average of 2,580 times with five different partners.

27. Your nose can differentiate between 1 trillion different smells.

28. Human decomposition begins around 4 minutes after death, a process known as ‘self-digestion’ where your enzymes and bacteria eat you away.

29. If all the DNA in your body were uncoiled, it would stretch out to about 10 billion miles, which is from Earth to Pluto and back.

30. Stomach acid can dissolve metal.
